Who’s Owning It?
I was speaking recently with the CEO of a multi-million dollar organisation. With quiet confidence, he shared that psychosocial safety in his business was under control.
Of course it was.
Not because it had been left to chance. Not because it sat buried in an HR policy. But because he had chosen to lead it.
He’d engaged an external agency to conduct a thorough review. He could clearly articulate the factors they assessed. More importantly, he knew exactly where the gaps were and where focused attention was still required.
He wasn’t defensive. He wasn’t complacent. He was owning it.
And here’s the strategic insight: he understands that psychosocial safety isn’t a compliance exercise — it’s a performance driver. It influences the energy people bring, the risks they’re willing to take, the conversations they’re prepared to have. In other words, it shapes whether a business is simply surviving or truly thriving.
So let me ask you:
Who’s owning it in your organisation?
Is psychosocial safety a delegated task… or a leadership priority? Are you future ready when it comes to the human risks that will define your success?
Because a Future Fit Organisation isn’t created by ticking boxes.
It’s built by leaders who take ownership.
